No busca cerrar significados.
Pieza bakoitza tentsioan dagoen lurralde bat da, non irudia hautsi, berriro osatu eta berriro huts egiten duen. Collage-a, marrazkia, hitza: ezer ez dago bereizita. Dena aldi berean gertatzen da, hizkuntza bisualak bere arauak desobeditzea erabaki balu bezala.
Arte Ederretan hezia baina edozein ortodoxiatik argi eta garbi urrundua, Rosa de Gabrielek bere unibertso propioa eraiki du, non itxuraz xaloa dena deserosoarekin batera bizi den. Bere irudiek ez dute lasaitzen, bere konposizioek ez dute ordenatzen. Bada zerbait organikoa, ia deskonposizioan, bere lana zeharkatzen duena: aldatzen dena, degradatzen dena, mutatzen dena erakusteko tema. Ez du esanahiak ixtea bilatzen. Ireki egiten ditu.
Bere piezek artefaktu gisa funtzionatzen dute: errealitate interbenituaren pasarteak, non poetikoa absurdoarekin eta kezkagarriarekin nahasten den. Ikusleak ez du erantzunik aurkitzen, arrakalak aurkitzen ditu. Eta arrakala horietan arnasten du obrak. Rosa de Gabrielek ez du mundua ilustratzen. Desmuntatu egiten du. Eta keinu horretan, beste leku batetik eraikitzen du berriro: deserosoagoa, anbiguoagoa, errealagoa.
Rosa de Gabriel does not paint: she intervenes. Each piece is a territory in tension where the image breaks, recomposes itself, and fails again. Collage, drawing, word: nothing is there separately. Everything happens at once, as if the visual language had decided to disobey its own rules.
Trained in Fine Arts but clearly detached from any orthodoxy, Rosa de Gabriel has built her own universe where the seemingly naive coexists with the uncomfortable. Her figures do not soothe, her compositions do not order. There is something organic, almost decomposing, that runs through her work: an insistence on showing what changes, what degrades, what mutates. She does not seek to close meanings. She opens them.
Her pieces function as artifacts: fragments of intervened reality where the poetic mixes with the absurd and the unsettling. The viewer does not find answers, but cracks. And in those cracks is where the work breathes. Rosa de Gabriel does not illustrate the world. She dismantles it. And in that gesture, she rebuilds it from another place: more uncomfortable, more ambiguous, more real.
